What we actually store
We use browser storage rather than tracking cookies for everything the site needs to work. Nothing in the necessary category identifies you, and none of it leaves your device except when you place an order or send us a message.
- Your basket — what you have added, so it survives a reload.
- Mailing-list prompt — whether you have joined or dismissed it, so you are not asked repeatedly.
- This choice — the preferences above, recorded with the date you set them.
- Analytics — while it is on, we record the pages you open and what you add to a basket. This one is not stored on your device at all: visits are grouped server-side by a one-way salted hash of your address and browser, never by the values themselves and never by a cookie. Switch analytics off and those records are deleted.
Changing or clearing your choice
Your preference is kept on this device, in this browser. Clearing site data resets it, and you will be treated as having made no choice — which means optional categories return to on and you will be shown the notice again. Setting it on your phone does not set it on your laptop.
